Locum Anesthesiology Opportunity – Plattsburgh, NY

Position Overview A facility in Plattsburgh, NY is seeking a Locum Anesthesiologist to start in June 2026 through the end of September 2026, with the possibility of extension. The ideal provider will be able to cover two consecutive weeks per month and provide additional coverage when the other locum is not scheduled. Temporary privileges are available for candidates with a clean file, no malpractice history, and no work gaps. Schedule • Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM • Call: Required (must be within 15 minutes of the facility) • Coverage: OR and Labor & Delivery Facility Details • Trauma Level: Level III (ACS) • EMR System: Epic Systems • Work Setting: Hospital OR and L&D Job Responsibilities: Case Mix & Workload Approx. 4–5 cases per day 700–800 deliveries per year 100% OR work (no clinic responsibilities) Facility includes 9 main operating rooms Primary Cases Orthopedics General Surgery Required Procedures Bread & butter anesthesia cases OB call coverage Preferred Experience: OB/GYN Orthopedics General Surgery Plastic Surgery Vascular Surgery Colorectal Surgery ENT GI Urology Regional Blocks: Yes (for OR cases) Pain Management: No outpatient pain management Pediatrics Not required but welcome Healthy pediatric cases only No high-risk pediatrics Team & Practice Environment Join a collegial, multidisciplinary OR team Approximately 15 physicians in the anesthesia group (including per diems) Support staff includes: 2 CRNAs Anesthesia technicians PAs OR nurses and OR techs Administrative staff (Directors & Managers) Supervision: Rare supervision of CRNAs Qualifications: Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology ACLS Certification required MMR vaccination required Ability to take call and arrive within 15 minutes
