A locum tenens anesthesiologist is needed to provide hospital-based coverage at a busy community hospital in New York.
The position is available full-time to start ASAP and includes a mix of case supervision and independent cases across multiple surgical specialties, including orthopedics, urology, ophthalmology, and endocrinology.
About the Facility
• Hospital-based practice with 10 operating rooms
• Patient population primarily geriatric, with some adult and pediatric cases (dental and ophthalmology only)

Job Responsibilities: Provide anesthesia care including spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia
Manage a mix of independent cases and supervision of CRNAs
Participate in on-call coverage (night and weekend)
Collaborate with surgical teams and facility staff to ensure safe, efficient patient care
Qualifications: Board Certified in Anesthesiology – required
Active New York State License – required
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications – required
Self-query NPDB report, pulled within the same month as Application - required
Must be located outside a 60 - mile radius
Must be available at least two weeks per month - required
Full-time availability preferred
Working Hours: Shifts: 8s, 10s, or 12 - hour options
Weekend coverage: 7a-7a beeper call
Night call: 7p-7a
Skills: Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques and perioperative care
Ability to supervise CRNAs and work independently
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred
