Cardiovascular Anesthesiologist

Position Summary Froedtert South is seeking highly skilled and independent CV Anesthesiologists to join a collaborative and supportive anesthesia team in Kenosha/Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. This role offers physicians the ability to work independently at the top of their license while supporting and mentoring CRNAs as needed. About the Anesthesia Department The site is staffed through Vituity, a physician-owned, democratic partnership that values servant leadership, shared ownership, and fairness. Key Responsibilities: - Clinical Autonomy & Support - Independently manage a broad range of cases including general, OB, regional blocks, and more - Provide CV Anesthesia for cardiac surgery cases (note: cardiac volume is not high) and support the EP lab as well as Watchman placements - Serve as a collaborative resource and occasional supervisor for CRNAs—especially new graduates or those building confidence - Healthy pediatric cases (typically age 5+); all modalities required Call & Scheduling - Beeper call with 20-min response time - Every 4th night weekday first call and one weekend call per month - Stay in-house option available for those living farther away - CV call is primarily CV coverage; on rare occasions, if both first and second call are working the CV anesthesiologist may need to cover OB until one of the other anesthesiologists becomes available - Rotation-based schedule with daily shift assignments - Paid for shift regardless of room assignment; add-on cases possible - Flexibility to pick up or give up additional shifts or call Technology & Support Staff - Four well-tenured anesthesia techs provide room turnover and in-case support - On-call availability for emergent assistance - Robust Epic system and efficient OR operations - Two Da Vinci 5 robot suites Qualifications - MD or DO with completed Anesthesiology residency - Clinically capable of providing CV anesthesia - Licensed or license-eligible in Wisconsin - Open to new graduates and experienced providers - Strong communication skills and team mentality - Committed to high-quality patient care, respect, and professionalism Performance Expectations - Deliver safe and efficient anesthesia care across a wide range of surgical services - Collaborate respectfully with physicians, CRNAs, techs, and surgical teams - Participate in daily assignments with flexibility and accountability - Document thoroughly and comply with department protocols - Maintain autonomy while asking for support when needed Why Join This Anesthesia Team?
