Administers anesthesia to patients rendering them insensitive to pain during surgery. Monitors the patient's physical reaction to the anesthetic and informs the physician of any adverse condition. Administers emergency measures when complications arise.
Cleveland Clinic is currently seeking Anesthesiologist Assistants for part‑time opportunities at Mercy Hospital, located in Canton, Ohio. Part‑time is classified as 20‑32 hours per week (0.5‑0.8 FTE). Mercy Hospital is a tertiary care facility and a Level 2 Trauma Center.
Our team tackles a wide variety of cases including general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, plastics, vascular, cardiothoracic, gastroenterology, obstetrics, and some pediatrics. We have 15 operating rooms, an endoscopy suite, and a cardio suite, ensuring a dynamic and diverse work experience.
We are committed to providing flexibility in scheduling, allowing AAs to work different shifts, including 8‑hour, 10‑hour, 12‑hour, 16‑hour, and even 24‑hour shifts. There is also occasional weekend call from home, providing a balance between professional and personal life.

Responsibilities
• Obtain a comprehensive patient history and perform relevant elements of a physical exam.
• Discuss findings and anesthetic plan with supervising anesthesiologist before induction of anesthesia.
• Review the patient's condition with the anesthesiologist immediately prior to induction.
• Pre‑test and calibrate anesthesia delivery systems.
• Administer blood, blood products, and supportive fluids.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution recognized by the board of regents.
Certifications
• Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants.
• Current, valid certificate of registration.
• Written practice protocol consistent with section 4760.09 of the Revised Code.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Complexity of Work
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience
• None required.
Physical Requirements
• Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.
• Standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
• Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds; push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
• Corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
• Work under stressful conditions with irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
Personal Protective Equipment
• Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $230,000.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $299,000.00
